Built for the HECM Package

Reverse mortgage closings are where generic notaries get into trouble: duplicate security instruments, counseling certificates, non-borrowing spouse disclosures, trust certifications and borrowers who, rightly, want to understand each form. A missed initial on the second deed of trust means a redraw and a lost week.

Select Signings specializes in these signings. We assign agents with reverse mortgage experience, brief them on your lender-specific requirements, and give them the time the appointment deserves.

Reverse Mortgage Signing FAQ

Why does a reverse mortgage signing need a specialized notary?
HECM packages are long, carry multiple notarized instruments (two deeds of trust, two notes, counseling certificate acknowledgments) and are signed by senior borrowers who often want to read every page. An agent who has done them before keeps the appointment calm, catches missing initials and knows not to rush the borrower.
Do your notaries handle trusts and powers of attorney?
Yes. Many reverse mortgage signings involve a living trust, a POA or a non-borrowing spouse. Our agents are briefed on the signing-capacity instructions in your package and confirm ID and capacity before the first signature.
Can the signing take place at a care facility or hospital?
Yes. We regularly schedule signings at assisted-living communities, rehab facilities and hospitals, and coordinate with staff on timing and any witness requirements.
How long should we allow for the appointment?
Plan for 90 minutes to two hours. We tell the notary to block the time and not to schedule another signing immediately after, so your borrower is never hurried.
Do you serve reverse mortgage lenders nationwide?
Yes — all 50 states, with the same confirmation, same-day drop and tracking process as every Select Signings order.
