Frequently Asked Questions

How Select Signings works for escrow, title and lending offices — ordering, turnaround, fees, documents and coverage.

What is a notary signing service?
A notary signing service is a company that finds, schedules and manages mobile notaries (signing agents) for loan closings on behalf of escrow, title and lending offices. Instead of your staff calling notaries, confirming with the borrower and chasing the package, the service does it and reports back. Select Signings has coordinated these signings nationwide for escrow, title, lenders and mortgage companies.
How is this different from hiring a mobile notary directly?
A single notary covers one area and one appointment at a time. A signing service gives you one order process for every market, a replacement if the notary cancels, instructions relayed consistently, and accountability if something goes wrong. You also get our $1,000,000 Errors & Omissions coverage on top of the notary's own policy.
How do I place an order?
New clients: complete the service request form or email [email protected] with the signing details. Returning clients receive login access to place and track orders online. Either way, we confirm receipt and begin sourcing the notary immediately.
How much notice do you need?
Most orders placed before mid-afternoon can be signed the next day; many are signed the same day. The more notice we have, the more choice we have in notaries — but tell us the deadline and we will tell you right away whether we can meet it.
How much does a loan signing cost?
Fees are quoted per signing and depend on the type of package, the signing location (travel distance), print requirements (e.g. two copies, legal-size) and timing (rush, evening, weekend). There are no memberships, minimums or setup fees. Request a quote through the client form or by phone.
Who are your notaries?
Commissioned notaries public with loan-signing experience, background-screened, carrying their own E&O insurance. Our network includes more than 50,000 agents across all 50 states, and we match each order to agents with a track record on that type of signing.
Do you confirm the appointment with the borrower?
Yes. Once the notary is assigned we contact the signer to confirm the date, time and location, then send the confirmation to you. Reschedules are handled by us.
How are documents delivered and returned?
You send the package through your secure method (encrypted link, portal or email); the notary prints, completes the signing and drops the package at FedEx or UPS the same day. We send you the tracking number and follow the shipment until it is delivered to your office.
Can you scan back critical documents?
Yes. Tell us which pages you need and the notary scans them back after the signing so funding is not delayed.
Do you handle reverse mortgages, trusts and powers of attorney?
Yes. We assign agents experienced with HECM packages, trust certifications and POA signings. See our reverse mortgage signing service.
Do you cover signers outside our state?
Yes — all 50 states, through the same order process. See out-of-state signings.
What insurance do you carry?
Select Signings carries a $1,000,000 Errors & Omissions policy covering every signing we coordinate, in addition to the E&O coverage each notary carries individually.
What are your office hours?
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM Pacific. Signings themselves can be scheduled evenings and weekends by request.
I'm a notary — how do I join your network?
Apply on the Notary Signing Agent page. We accept experienced signing agents in all 50 states and pay within 20–30 days.
